Ice Dying

Participants will dye 4 fat quarters in the class in the colors of their choosing and learn how to treat fabric before and after dying for best results. Participants will leave with their dying fabrics in sealed containers to cure and wash out at home the following day. Required Supplies: 4 fat quarters- Prewash your fabrics - no fabric softener or dryer sheets. 2 Solid white cotton FQ, preferably PFD (Prepared for Dying), avoid whites with optical brighteners (SuperWhite or Optic white) 1 light to medium colored solid cotton FQ 1 white on white or black on white printed cotton fabrics. This can’t be a batik. Recommended class wear: Clothes that you don’t might getting dye on, in case of mishaps. (Including shoes) Dust or KN95 mask for working with dye powders. Dye materials and equipment and Vinyl/Nitrile gloves will be provided
