Blue Hen Quilt Shop News!
N E W S L E T T E R
I am now into week two of No Mascara!! Being an on-line operation has its perks! And apparently all those robo-call centers have closed up too! When the phone rings now, it is actually for us!
Many thanks to all of you who have so graciously placed orders through our website or over the phone. John and I are in the shop Monday, Wednesday and Fridays 10 - 2pm if you need to speak to someone.
Sadly, we must cancel all curb-side pick-ups! The Governor said to stay home!! So we will ship your orders from here on out.
There's been a lot of call for masks for those in the health care fields. And lots of people have lots of different ways to make the masks. Me, included. Here's a couple of my un-expert opinions.
1. This seam I see going down the middle of some custom made masks worries me - lots of room for viruses and other stuff to go through all those needle holes in the seam right over the nose.
2. Using different colors front and back allow the wearer to know which side was out.
3. Elastic is tough on your ears!
4. Tightly woven fabric is best - I use batiks. Wash them first!
So in support of masks and our efforts to support all those heros on the front lines, here's my version of a mask pattern. Please feel free to share it.

In addition, our website special of the week is 15% off Batiks. After you put batiks and other stuff in your cart, you must enter this code at checkout - Batiks15. That will automatically take 15% off off fabrics from the batik category. CLICK HERE for our on-line selection. This will expire Tuesday, April 7th at midnight.
Stay Healthy and keep sewing!
